PALM SPRINGS
Palm Springs lies at the foot of Southern
California's Mt. San Jacinto and is noted as a desert
resort community approx. 110 miles east of Los Angeles
with some of the most famous golf courses in the
country. Once known as the "Playground of the Stars" it
has retained much of its 1930's - 1950's charm when it
was home to many of Hollywood's most glamorous stars
like Bob Hope, Elvis Presley, Debbie Reynolds, Lucille
Ball, Kirk Douglas, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin owned
houses in this period, giving the town a world wide fame
as the place the stars went to relax and retreat.
Mid-Century Modern architecture is part of the
sophistication and historic significance of Palm
Springs.

CATHEDRAL CITY
Cathedral City is located between the two cities of
Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage. The town's name derives
from "Cathedral Canyon", so named in 1850 by Col. Henry
Washington of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, because
it's rock formation were reminiscent of a cathedral.
Developers later had the same impression, 1925 they
developed the area's first subdivision and named it
Cathedral City. Incorporated in 1981, it's a destination
of friendly neighborhoods, lush country clubs, diverse
shopping, beautiful golf courses and seven magnificent
parks; Agua Caliente Park, Century Park, Panorama Park,
Town Square, Memorial Park, Patriot Park and Second
Street Park.

RANCHO MIRAGE
Rancho Mirage
located between the cities of Cathedral City and Palm
Desert. Although the city was only incorporated in 1973,
the Annenberg Estate in the area had long been popular
with the wealthy and powerful. Several U.S. Presidents
have vacationed here, and Gerald Ford was a frequent
visitor who later bought a house, in Rancho Mirage.
Whether you are a resident or a visitor, you have come
to the place where you will find lots of things to do.
There are five beautiful parks in Rancho Mirage, a
children's discovery museum, tennis, golf and a 30 acre
waterfront development called the River, offering
dining, shopping and a 3114-stadium seat Century
Theaters Multiplex.

PALM
DESERT
Palm Desert is located approx. 11 miles east of Palm
Springs. It was a popular retreat for "snowbirds" from
colder climates, who swell its population by an
estimated 31,000 each winter, but in the past couple of
years Palm Desert has seen more residents become
"full-timers" who now live in the city year-round. Once
served as a training ground for General George Patton's
Third Army troops and tank battalions, and also known as
the Old MacDonald Ranch and then Palm Village in the
1920's when date palms were planted. The first
residential development occurred in 1943, that site was
later developed into "El Paseo" an upscale shopping
district known as the Rodeo Drive of the desert.

INDIAN
WELLS
Indian Wells is located between Palm Desert and La
Quinta. In 1967 it became California's 400th city and
the 16th in Riverside County. It has the highest
proportions of millionaires of any city in the United
States. Indian Wells is host to a distinguished and
exiting variety of local attractions, cultural events,
and internationally televised sports tournaments. The
Arts Festival, The Frank Sinatra Countrywide Celebrity
Invitational Golf Tournament, Indian Wells Desert
Symphony featuring international musicians and world
renowned artists and The Eisenhower Walk of Honor and
Veterans Memorial. In addition, the city hosts the
Indian Wells Masters, also know as The Pacific Life
Open.

LA QUINTA
La Quinta is home to some of the most phenomenal golf
communities, like the famous PGA West at the foot of the
Santa Rosa Mountains. Since it opened in 1985 it has
hosted The Skins Game and the Bob Hope Chrysler
Classics. Among other destinations is the La Quinta
Resort and Club, a resort dating to 1926 and famous as
the spot in which director Frank Capra penned the
screenplay of Lost Horizon. The city is home to a number
of celebrity residents, including Merv Griffin. La
Quinta provides residents and visitors alike with a wide
range of choices for leisure and cultural activities.
Enjoy the La Quinta Arts Festival. shopping, dining,
horseback riding, tennis and water sports at Lake
Cahuilla.
